I grew up in family where my siblings practiced and played piano. I remember falling asleep many nights as one of my sisters played beautiful piano music.
Several decades later I decided I wanted to learn how to recreate the music myself.
I rented a piano to begin. I forgot how I found Trey but immediately felt a connection and was excited to begin my musical education. Trey’s patience, guidance, and expertise coupled with his music theory background engaged my spirit to learn. I was so excited to learn and practice I spent my lunch breaks practicing piano!
To this day I often listen to music with the purpose of identifying intervals, styles and patterns.
Trey arranged a recital with myself and a few other (much much younger) students. It was fun and gave us a sense of accomplishment and joy!
When Trey moved from my area to pursue higher education I reached out and practiced with 2 other teachers to continue my studies. Unfortunately I didn’t make the same connection and my motivation to continue was diminished to the point of extinction.
I have fond memories of moments with Trey and know my tiny introduction as an artist affected my life in many positive, creative ways.
If you want to learn how to play music, you are on the right path with Trey!
