Trey Brown, PhD
While growing up in Memphis, TN, I was surrounded by the sounds of Blues, Country, Jazz, and of course, Rock and Roll. I fell in love with music at a very early age and longed to learn more about it. Inspired by the jazz trumpet player Louis Armstrong, I finally got my wish and began my musical career learning how to play the trumpet.
Soon after, I started to expand my musical horizons after receiving some records from the Jazz at the Philharmonic series. I switched from trumpet to piano as a sophomore in high school which began a life-long journey of playing the piano.
After completing a Bachelor or Arts degree in music theory at the University of Notre Dame, I became a piano teacher and continued to teach piano while pursuing other career paths. I am thrilled to again be able to share my love of piano and making music with students of all ages.
